Dear Valued Clients and Friends,

After much reflection and with an extremely heavy heart, I am writing to share that I have decided it’s time to close Faux Get Me Not, llc, which I have been honored to operate since May of 2005.

What began over twenty years ago as mural and decorative painting business, gradually evolved into a specialized kitchen cabinet painting service. That transition, like so many moments along the way, were guided by the needs of my clients and design trends. Each project allowed me to grow not only as a business owner, but as a person and an artist.

This business has been more than my work — it has been a significant part of my life. I would not have been able to sustain it for so many years without the support of my family, Eric, Amy and Lacey and especially my husband Jeff, whose unwavering encouragement, patience, and belief in me carried me through both the busiest seasons and the most challenging ones. I could not have done it without them. I was blessed with the opportunity to have both Eric and Lacey work with me a handful of times and that was definitely one of the many highlights. I also had the opportunity to bring on a few friends here and there for some projects and that was amazing. I enjoyed giving them a hands-on chance to see what I did up close and personal.

To my clients: thank you so very much. Thank you for welcoming me into your homes, trusting me with your spaces and allowing me to direct you in design choices that enhanced your homes. I appreciate everyone of your recommendations to your friends and family. It just speaks volumes to your trust in me. My favorite part of every project was the reveal and watching each and everyone and yours reactions. It is something that I truly loved and will miss immensely. Many of you know the running joke between myself and my husband on how I get a hug at the end of a project and the fact that when he finishes a project at work, he never gets a hug. There are so many times when I come home from work and said, “Guess who got a hug?” I thank you for those moments. Many of you became more than clients — you became familiar faces, kind conversations, and lasting memories that I will always treasure.

Although I worked alone, there are many people over the years within the industry that I consider my colleagues. Whether they educated me on what products are up-and-coming or if I had a challenge within a specific space and needed assistance with troubleshooting, I could count on them. I was fortunate enough to be a part of a large cabinet painting group on Facebook where so many people were so kind to me and I was able to pass my knowledge along to others. I appreciate you all. I also want to think those who trusted me for subcontracting early in my career. I was able to work on so many different projects because of you. From Venetian plaster to gold leafing, it was a wonderful experience and I can never thank you enough. You all know who you, thank you for being there for me.

While I know this decision is the right one, it does not come without extreme sadness. Closing this chapter is emotional, and I will deeply miss the work, the creativity, and the connections that came with it. At the same time, I carry immense gratitude for the journey and pride in what was built over these past 20 years.

Thank you for being part of my story. I will forever appreciate your support, loyalty, and kindness.

I look forward to this next chapter and what it will bring.
